TURN UP YOUR SPEAKERS
Inspired by the nineties indie rock scene, Shoefiti blends bright melodies and bursts of noisy harmonic frictions, adding a modern fuzzy sound to the whole. The live performance include musicians sweating on stage, a singer that doesn't hesitate to go down in the crowd and a smiling drummer.
After a year during which Shoefiti released it's first album, toured France, England (including Brighton's Alternate Escape), played a couple acoustic gigs in Asia (Tokyo & Seoul), got a 3D music video selected in film festivals and some of its songs used in films, went to an artistic residency and played gigs in atypical places (such as the Saint Merri church), the band went back in the studio to record its new album "Coriolis"!
Coming out in 2015, the new songs all have a folk songwriting background, but are arranged with a rock and psychedelic vibe while recorded with a production from François Clos (La Blogotheque) leaning towards gritty garage sounding techniques (the drum distorts, the bass growls, the vocals overload the preamps, guitars are fuzzed and anti-solos are heard with organic sounds passed through mean analog filters).
There's a lot done and many more to do. But the band has many surprises hidden up its sleeves…
